Giordano's On Rush

I once walked 18 blocks in 9 degree weather to have this pizza. It's extraordinary...classic deep dish Chicago pizza that doesn't hold anything back. Zesty, hearty, meaty, cheesy, hot, and hearty...with a crust that is crispy and chewy and buttery all at once. One slice is about enough to fill a good size adult, and two slices is bordering on excess. You'll want 3-4 slices. The salads, soups, and pasta offerings are all delicious, but let's face it: you're here for the pizza. It's not overpriced, and the atmosphere is cozy and friendly.

Not only is their pizza BEYOND filling, they have great salads and any kind of fried appetizer you can think of (if you're not eating carbs, why are you in a pizza joint?!) The staff have great senses of humor, even when you show up with large crowds like I seem to time & again. Service is arranged so that you order before you sit, which is GREAT for big parties. Ate a mess of deep dish, had salad, swilled beers with 8 other folks, left for $120 including tax and tip. Looks great on expense reports.Oh - and from their website, you can deliver their pizzas practically anywhere in the states. I can finally get REAL Chicago pizza here in SF! Can't wait to go back ...
