Lou Malnati's has an excellent buttery crust, this is what sets it apart. It has a little more breading on the base that a Giordano's pizza and somewhat less cheese. It's great for eat-in, although in my experience the take out is always not quite warm and the delivery can take hours and arrive cold.

I was raised on this pizza. It has been "the" pizza for as long as I can remember. After living in Chicago for 24 years, I never did find anything as good. As for the shipping of pizza via air mail, it's ALMOST as good. Remember you cannot re-freeze thawed pizza. Around Valentine's day they offer, or did, a heart-shaped pizza that has quite the impact. This restaurant and their pizza is amazing, impcomparable. Take it from a native.

Definitely the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Excellent crust, excellent cheese, excellent sausage layer. You can't go wrong.
