Piece inspection report
Piece is exactly what they look like -- a loud, fun place to have pizza and beer.First things first. The pizza is good. But it is not "Chicago-style" deep pan pizza, it's pretty thin, so be prepared for that. Having said that, I am a deep pan pizza snob, but I think that Piece's pizza is pretty darn good. And don't expect to find anything else on the menu -- it's just pizza (and appetizers and salads).Second, beer. The wait staff *will* look at you funny if you don't order beer. (People are carded as they enter the restaurant.) Piece features several beers that are brewed on-site. Are they a pizza place with a micro-brewery, or a micro-brewery that sells pizza? You decide.Third, the music. It's loud, so be prepared to shout at the person sitting across from you. But at least it's good rock music -- on my last visit, I was treated to a couple of tracks from "Appetite for Destruction", an all-time classic.Ball games play on TV's around the bar and are projected onto a wall. The ceiling features glass running the length of the restaurant, offering plenty of natural light while the sun is shining. And when the sun goes down, the Christmas lights turn on, making for a fun atmosphere. All in all, a great place to hang with friends for pizza and beer and rock and roll. On our last visit, our waitress noticably treated us worse than the tables around us. We probably should have ordered more beer.
